When I came to Sarah I was dealing with social anxiety, 40+ food allergies and chronic pain. While I had done a lot of things to help myself (acupuncture, functional medicine, chiropractic and strict diets like GAPS) I was still dealing with these 3 major issues every day. Right away she led with support and also impressed upon me the importance of eliminating all food allergens (I had been cheating!). She also sent me amazing recipes to help me prepare meals without all the foods I couldn't eat. I finally felt like I could do this! I immediately felt better - more energy, less anxiety, and my chronic pain went away. Sarah is amazing!
Sarah is compassionate about meeting your individual needs. She listens to your concerns and helps you find ways to help better yourself... mind.... body and soul!
In the past year since I started working with Sarah, I have found her to be invaluable in this current path that I am walking. While re-thinking and becoming re-educated about food, it is such a gift to have her with me, guiding me all the way. Having Sarah in my corner is a huge part of my self-care and her knowledge of holistic nutrition is endless. I see us working together for a long time to come.
After struggling all my life with my relationship to food and the unhealthy boundaries I established with food; I now feel, after taking Sarah’s class, that my relationship and understanding of healthy food choices are more balanced and are a sustainable way of life for me. Sarah’s warm and welcoming personality made me feel right at home. Never once did I feel that she was superior to me in her eating habits and health choices. She often shared her own struggles with transparency, which put me at ease, and also felt empowering that I too can make changes. The way she gave tips and suggestions was not condescending, but enlightening as she shared the most relevant and up to date information on food storage and growing and eating. One of the most impactful changes that I've made is eating organic. Learning about farming practices and the changes that have resulted in the way our food is produced and grown, was alarming. The way that it was presented by Sarah was factual and "peppered" with the right amount of emotion. Often this subject can be polarizing as it is presented in a "there is only one right way...and you are not doing it" kind of philosophy. Sarah’s winsome personality and caring, nurturing spirit conveyed acceptance and not judgement. She is clearly passionate about nutrition and it's effects on the human body, presented in a way that is inviting and welcoming.
Working with Sarah has been one of the best gifts I’ve given myself. She helped me develop a sense of awareness in regards to my body that I’ve learned is essential to how I live my life. I’ve struggled with endometriosis since I was a teenager and eventually had surgery in my mid 20s in 2014 (which did not help as expected). Because of my endometriosis, I’m very sensitive to what I put in/on my body. Sarah helped me see this and learn how to navigate this foreign area of my life. Since working with Sarah, my endometriosis symptoms have drastically improved. I used to be in constant pain throughout each month. Now I experience a few days of cramping with my cycle. My periods have been regular for three years without any hormonal birth control. Some days I wonder if I even have endometriosis. I know I do—it’s not something that will completely go away.
But Sarah helped me find the tools to continue living and enjoying my life.
